Overall objective: to study the phenomena connected with the movement of water on earth - rainfall, runoff, groundwater, evaporation, transpiration and infiltration.

Specific objectives:

1. To analyze the needs and availability of water resources;
2. To characterize and quantify the behaviour of hydrological phenomena;
3. Quantification of the variables of the water cycle, particularly for irrigation and drainage systems and for the design of hydraulic structures (storm peak flow);
4. Determination of the flood hydrograph damped by a reservoir and size rainwater retention basins.
